Flowery, talcum-scented feel ?  Well that's turned me RIGHT off - if it's just going to be fluffy wuvvly staring and sparkles I probably can't be bothered.  I wonder why people were comparing it to Azumanga?  Fetishizing school girls, perhaps? It's a shoujo novel series - in other words, the intended audience is young adolescent girls. I can't imagine why anyone would ever compare Marimite to Azumanga Daioh, unless they knew nothing about one, or the other.
