hotels on the beach at cedar point TR: Cedar Point - Monday June 7. Four complaints about CP

I went to Cedar Point for the first time this year, and even though the weather was very hot (90 degrees) and we didn't get any of the rain or thunderstorms they predicted in the afternoon, I still had a wonderful time there! I stayed at the Radisson hotel at the corner of Hwy 6 and the causeway, and went home Tuesday afternoon. I rode the Magnum twice, Raptor twice, and Gemini 6 times. I had one ride each on the Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, and Mine Ride. I wish the Sky Ride was open. They said it was too windy, but I have been on the cable cars on windier days than that. However I have 5 complaints about Cedar Point, and I think the park operations should at least make an attempt to resolve them. #4. SMOKERS IN LINES WHILE WAITING FOR RIDES How many people in this newsgroup are bothered by second-hand cigarette smoke while waiting in line for a ride? You would think that smokers would at least have respect for non-smoking guests in line by not smoking. But no, this is the real world where people don't care about the health, comfort, ot feelings of anyone else, so the Park has to make a rule against smoking in line. It is one thing to smack up a sign, but to actually enforce the rule printed on it is a whole nother story. I know why there weren't any smokers in line for the Magnum when I was there

in that regard. Customers are often rude. 8-( That's true Dave. But also smoking in line at KW is not always prohibited. I know that they were not allowing smoking in line for the Exterminator last Thurs. But for most of the other coasters, while the signs ask guests to be considerate of others in line and not smoke, it doesn't necessary ban it. At CP however, all smoking in line is prohibited. There's not even a store in the park in which you can purchase cigarettes. Even though I found it funny that souvenir lighters seem to be sold everywhere :`) MR. C Michael Carmon

Dave Althoff wrote Annoyed, but it isn't a Cedar Point thing. Kennywood was worse, actually, in that regard. This reminds me of a strange incident in the Racer line on Sunday. One of the operators, who was sitting in the elevated booth, kept saying over the loudspeaker, Please don't smoke in line. Repeatedly. She was apparently directing this comment at a particular person, because she would sometimes imply that there were people who'd heard her before and hadn't put out their cigarettes. But it was always a request, not a demand. Even though she did this at least five times, she never got to the point of saying, If you don't put that cigarette out we won't let you ride. Clearly without some form of enforcement, the rude people who continually ignored her were going to keep doing so...
