OK, here is the respose I got from Motorola and the question: Customer (John) 01/03/2006 02:18 PM I recieved this for Christmas for use on my Treo 650 Phone. Here are the problems: 1) Almost impossible to pair it. Takes 8 to 10 tries flipping the little microphone to make it work. The light won't stay purple but flashes blue. 2) When it does pair, it disconnects and has to be re-paired again manually. This is if I get over 6 feet (line of sight) from the phone, not 30 feet as it is suppose to. It should reconnect automaticaly when I get back within range. 3) When trying to use it, my customers complain they cannot understand me and it cuts out. On my end, it sounds like the person speaking is under water. 4) Most of the time, when you try to answer the phone by pressing the button, it won?t pick up. I have to use the phone to answer. I called Motorola Tech support and they would NOT talk to me because I don?t have a Motorola phone! What am I suspose to do now? Dear John Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support, we appreciate your request. Thank you very much for your considerations and interest in our products. We are sorry to hear about all this inconvenience. Please note that Motorola Bluetooth headsets are tested to work with Motorola phones. However, Bluetooth devices may be compatible with each other if they share the same Bluetooth Profiles. Your connection issues may be caused by the headset or by your Treo itself. I recommend you contact Palm for assistance on adjusting the Bluetooth settings on your Treo 650. You may also try resetting the H700 by plugging it to the charger for just 5 seconds. We hope that you find this information useful and we remain at your entire disposal for future questions you may need to ask. If you have further questions or need additional assistance, please contact our Cellular Information Center at 1-800-331-6456. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 7am to 10pm CST and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm CST. For information about Motorola products and services, please locate http://www.motorola.com/ Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be of service to you. Sincerely, Gonzalo C. Motorola Internet Correspondence Team Folks, you may want to read this and take heed before you buy a Moto anything.

I am thinking that is why even in San Diego I cannot find many local places to buy BT headsets.  They don't want to deal with all the returns.   I still think BT escaped from some deep, dark lab somewhere way too soon. I'm using an H700 with my E815 and it works quite well! In the past I have noticed that most 'third party' BT headsets sometime do not work that well with the Motorola (V710 and now E815) phones that I've had. They exhibit similar problems like you're experiencing with your Treo and H700 with not staying paired, etc. So it does appear to me that what Motorola is telling you is real. I DO notice that the H700 doesn't have nearly the range of the previous HS810 and HS820 though.. But since I normally carry the phone in my pocket, or attached to a home made stainless steel strap in my car, it's not really a problem.

This is why my E815 went back. They told me that they did not know when or if they could fix the echo problem with there phone and bluetooth head set. Phone went back along with there headset. I haven't experienced any 'BT echo' with my E810 and H700 headset. And you really need to find out the difference between 'there' and 'their'... THEIR is the proper word to use up there in your message, not THERE!
