You've finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and to purchase a cell phone. Congratulations! Maybe you resisted buying one because you believed that it was a fad that would go away, or maybe you didn't purchase one because you didn't have coverage in your area. For whatever reason, you are only now getting around to buying a cell phone and you're not quite sure what you can do with it. You know that you can make calls, but is there anything else you can do with a cell phone? Of course there is! Cell phones from five years ago didn't do much more than just allow you to receive and make calls when you were away from your home. Now, however, they can do much more. To begin with, almost all cell phones now have text capability. This is a way to let you get in touch with someone without having to call and speak with them. Think of it like sending a little email through your phone. |

During the school day, students need to be focused on classroom instruction without the distractions of cell phones. There should be NO tcell phones in the schools. While cell phones are very convenient and a common part of everyday life, cell phones, for the most part, are a distraction everywhere. One of the best ways we can protect the privacy of every student is to ban cell phones from school during the school day. Have you ever been on a bus or plane and somebody is carrying on a loud personal conversation? At a school, the distraction may be even greater than in a public place. For many teachers one of the biggest concerns about including cell phones in schools is that they will be used inappropriately. |
