are bouncing off low-level support personell (probably in Bombay).  We do have some clout - we have one competitor who's the CEO of a company that owns over 1,000 AT&T cell phones who could switch them all, but so far no luck. Maybe if more complained or, perhaps better, dropped their service, they would take note. Just spoke with Shawn, a customer service pawn at AT&T, he says that they have roaming coverage in Hobbs, and that it costs $0.69/minute on my rate plan, or I could use a national plan for $59.95.  He stated Hobbs is listed as a metro city and therefore coverage of some kind is a certainty, as well as in Midland and Lubbock. I must defer to those pilots on site in Hobbs however.  Do AT&T phones not work at all, in that there is a recorded message saying no service is available?   Or is there some other message regarding roaming coverage arrangements? - Mark Navarre ASW-20 OD California, USA -

And if you have Verizon and are intending on using analog in fringe areas, be advised that the Motorola T720 doesn't perform very well. However, LG phones (LG VX10 or the newer LG VX4400 . . . and maybe other brands) do. At Crazy Creek Soaring (bay area CA) a T720 showed zip for signal strength while a VX10 had 3 bars (about half scale) and was functional on analog  - - both using Verizon.

My Cingular phone does work at Hobbs.  There is a problem in town of caller ID not working and your calls go out as having the number blocked (can be a problem if calling someone who won't accept those calls).  Once you get out of town it seems to work just fine. Reb Byrne 2D
